I've been trawling through Duotrope for the past few weeks and noticed the uptick in "New"/"Fledging" markets. Usually, they're noncompensatory venues. But this Astra place? I have a very, very hard time reconciling their "Donations, please" bit with all those pro-rates and even the semi-pro/token rates. That would add up to a tremendous amount of scratch, given follow-throughs and sizes of TOCs, of course.

Funny thing yesterday evening, though, was I noticed "Lightspeed SF" was no longer listed at the main site. Plus, that whole jackin' other venues' search potentiality via punning is pretty lame.
