As someone who is very in to animation, I have to admit that even if I didn't like the 7.1 movie, I would have bought the DVD just to get the deathly hallows animation. When I saw it the theater I missed half of the things I've discovered about it, but I still loved it then for what I did see. The whole use of positive and negative shapes to do the scene transfers as the brothers die is just excellent. Plus, how Death is portrayed, just wow. The whole animation reminded me of javanese shadow puppetry, the use of light as a background, the silouette manipulation, the angularity and shapes of the characters. Just excellent. I was just blown away when I saw that. You don't expect that level of experimentation and artistry as a set piece in the middle of an action movie.
