It happens sometimes. Who knows how Amazon's pricing works? Upon urging by Kevin J. Anderson, I ordered a bunch of Rush's catalog on CD, and most of them were cheaper if you bought the CD/MP3 than if you bought the MP3. Some were nearly 50% cheaper that way. Same for Gord's Gold and a number of other "best of" CDs I ordered last year. Every so often I look through their listings an pick up bargains that way.
The Amazon Pantry credit was a new one to me, though. Mostly what I've seen was a $1 credit for MP3s and eBooks. I find it amusing that Amazon is willing to pay me to wait a week (or less).
