Not Sure What's Happening At The Pump

The Great Deflating Prices For Gas

Gas prices -- what's down with that? Last week we were $2.48.9/gal in Allendale. $2.38.9 for the weekend.

Monday -- $2.34.9. Tuesday morning -- $2.30.9. And Tuesday evening -- $2.28.9/gal for regular.

I thought for sure they'd gouge us for Bastille Day, but apparently they missed that as a holiday. Maybe because it fell in the middle of the week. Memorial Day was around the three buck level and Fourth of July was running about $2.65.9/gal, down from $2.68.9 the day before.

Yeah, there's no rhyme or reason.

It's the quarterly time of year where the reporters on their way home from the office check out the tank farm off to the left of the highway to see how full they are. And lookie there, why, we're almost stocked to the brim (and oil prices have dropped now that the G8 said they would look into speculation on the market). Don't worry, in a few weeks they'll have to start producing heating oil for the winter. That'll drain the tanks and they'll be able to raise the price again as they transition to winter blends.
