The Games

Sigh. The Detroit Redwings were leading the Toronto Maple Leafs in the NHL Winter Classic in Ann Arbor MI by 2-1 for a while, but it was tied up 2-2 at the end of regulation and OT. But Toronto prevailed in the shoot out 2-1.

Still, you gotta love an outdoor hockey game where you have The Weather Channel's Jim Cantore bundled up on the sidelines reporting on the game conditions. (evil grin) Take that you Sunbelt bowl games!

In the early bowl games, the Big Ten didn't fare well. Wisconsin and Iowa both lost, but Nebraska won. Go Cornhuskers on New Year's Day!

But, in the Granddaddy of Them All, Michigan State defeated Stanford 24-20 in the 100th Rose Bowl. A good game. Great marching bands.

Wanted for you to see this year's snow scooping outfit. Note the LED headlamp she bought for her Nicaragua trip the other year.
