The website for Appreciations for Ellen Datlow's SciFiction has had some amazing responses, but they haven't covered all 350+ stories displayed on SciFiction during its run. So...

A Note on Progress

As those of you who visit us regularly will have noticed, the pace at which new pieces are appearing here has slowed considerably. (We're still waiting to hear from some of you: hint, hint.) We are also still at around the halfway point for sign-ups. With that in mind, and with the hope of completing the Project as it was conceived, we're opening things up a bit. If you've already done (or signed on to do) an appreciation, you're now welcome to sign on for another. Several of you had previously expressed interest in doing multiple appreciations before; now's your chance. As before, leave a comment on the List or send an email to me at snurri2000 @ yahoo.com. Thanks for all your help, everyone!

I've Already Done My Share Once

I found about this "too late" to snatch up Howard Waldrop's "The Ugly Chickens", one of the finest bits of short fiction I've ever read. But I had no problem finding something to say about Robert Heinlein's classic "And He Built A Crooked House".

A number of my Clarion classmates and instructors have posted Appreciations. And some people who've requested claims, haven't yet posted.

Round Two!

But with The List opening up to seconds, I've put in a request for Howard Waldop's "God's Hooks!" And if you're a Howard fan, there are still even more unclaimed Howard stories on The List. And if you're just a SF/SciFiction fan, there is still half The List to go.

So do your duty, ladies and gentlemen! Sign up and post those appreciations! (BIG GRIN)
