Is It Fall Yet?

I was driving through some side streets in Coopersville MI when I was struck by the fact that Fall has finally arrived. The leaves on the trees near the little downtown were rich in yellows and browns and more colored leaves were blowing across the street in the breeze and clustering in little piles by the curbs.

The only think bothering this idyllic image was the fact I was driving with the AC on because the temperature was already 87degF by noon. Hot and hazy. It doesn't quite feel like Indian Summer, much more like... August.

So What Was I Doing In Coopersville?

Actually I was driving over to the Coopersville Farm Museum to pick up the quilt Mrs. Dr. Phil had placed on exhibit during the summer. No prizes for this, just an exhibition, but since this is Mrs. Dr. Phil's living room lap quilt, it means I won't have to "share" my living room lap quilt -- It's MINE, all MINE I tell you! (grin)

The construction at 68th Avenue and Randolph is almost finished. We're getting a roundabout, or rotary to some of you, such a thrill. Michigan, famous for their non-left turn left turns, has decided that some intersections should become traffic circles, when there isn't quite enough traffic to justify a traffic light. Yeah, lots of cars careening around and cutting each other off -- much more safe. WMU got a roundabout on the western edge of campus a couple of years ago. It's okay when there's no traffic, but creates a huge backup as the students try to get off campus after their classes.

Progress. Whether you need it or not.
