Some Thoughts About Candidates, Past and Present

I wish Barack Obama hadn't done a real estate deal with the wife of a guy who now is going to be on trial.

I wish the genuine and emotional Hillary Clinton didn't look like some kind of wide-eyed weirdo during meet-and-greets.

I wish John Edwards didn't stand around wondering why no one is listening to what he has to say.

I wish Rudy Guiliani could campaign on something other than subject-verb-"9-11".

I wish Fred Thompson had actually campaigned on something.

I wish Mike Huckabee could be a populist candidate without the theocratic dream schtick.

I wish Mitt Romney could make up his mind.

I wish I hadn't seen an Al Gore 2008 bumper sticker on an office door today.

I wish Ron Paul made sense a higher percentage of the time.

I wish I could remember who some of the other candidates, active and inactive, were.

As Goes Michigan, So Goes Florida

Heard a quote from someone in Florida complaining about the DNC's "death penalty" for moving their primary too early. "We're too big and too important..." Uh, (a) you knew what the penalty was before you moved the primary, just like Michigan did and (b) you did it anyway. So (c), get over yourself. No one in the rest of the nation wants to here how "big and important" Florida is. Not amongst the Dems. Especially after Al Gore 2000. (grin)

He didn't. Hillary got "Two Pinocchios" for that one from at least one newspaper.

Well... she probably looks that way because she IS that way. How else do you think she ended up marrying a doofus from Arkansas who drove an El Camino with astroturf in the back? And what's a megalomaniac supposed to look like? Hillary Clinton is George Bush with a donkey on her lapel and a jackass at her side. But they do make an amusing team... Kinda remind me of the old Rasslin tag teams... My favorite comment from the NC debate...

From the NYT: (In response to Clinton's comment...)
- “I’m here,” Mrs. Clinton said, “not my husband.”
Mr. Obama snapped, “I can’t tell who I’m running against sometimes.”

I wish John Edwards didn't stand around wondering why no one is listening to what he has to say.
Well... he's an ambulance chaser - a very financially successful ambulance chaser, but one nontheless. It's what they do. ;-D

I wish Rudy Guiliani could campaign on something other than subject-verb-"9-11".
Well... ya go with what ya got, and if that's all ya got and it isn't enough, then you just GO. Rudi's a little slow in getting the message.

I wish Fred Thompson had actually campaigned on something.
Who? Oh, yeah. The actor, former Senator. It's actually a good thing he didn't try to campaign on his record as a Senator. He sucked at it.

I wish Mike Huckabee could be a populist candidate without the theocratic dream schtick.
Come on now - SEERIOUSLY! I know you've heard it - "What's in a name?" Can you really expect the people of the US, shallow as they are, to elect and expect respect from the rest of the world for a guy named "HUCKABEE"? Huckaee, gotta pee, look at me, hee hee hee. Nah. He should have pulled a Hartpence without the Monkey Shines No one would have blamed him at all.

I wish Mitt Romney could make up his mind.
He did. He decided he could be president. He was wrong, but he's a wannabe decider so that doesn't count. The man's ignorant of the issues - the clueless are always confident.

I wish I hadn't seen an Al Gore 2008 bumper sticker on an office door today.
RTFLMBO Ya go with what ya got. LMBO some more! I hear he's going to make another documentary - going to call it "An Inconvenient Doofus" It's gonna be about a moron who wouldn't know real science if it bit him on the ass, but who manages to convince a LOT of people that he's some kind of climatologic guru and wins (?) the NObrain prize for stupidity.

I wish Ron Paul made sense a higher percentage of the time.
Who?

I wish I could remember who some of the other candidates, active and inactive, were.
Trust me. It's better that you don't. {EG}

take."

I never said anything about Obama working for this guy -- I was channeling an NPR story that said that when he bought his home in Hyde Park, Chicago, that the wife of this guy bought the lot next door, then sold him part to enlarge his back yard. So I'm not sure what your factcheck link has to do with what I was talking about. (grin)

And I wasn't harping on Hillary, so much as her facial expressions can make for very unfortunate looking photos which the hardcore Hillary haters will surely use to make her look deranged. Everyone else does.

The big problem is that I missed McCain in my candidate roundup...
