Every year the Oscars celebrate many of those who passed in the last year. The 81st Academy Awards were no exception. The segment was introduced by Queen Latifah, who sang a sentimental old faithful.
And then the show fucked it all up.
In between the seasick inducing camera weaving and panning and zooming in and out of the multiple screens on stage, sometimes we could see who it was and in between swoops we could sometimes read the captions.
This was not the time for some goddamned frustrated artist to strut their stuff. It was a horrible dissonant clash to the gorgeous singing and the melancholy remembrance the moment required.
Don't ever do that again.
