The trick is to put things ON toast. Poached eggs are good on toast. Orange marmalade. Any number of jams and jellies. Cheese. Peanut butter. Cream cheese and lox. (Okay, it'd be better on a bagel, but you got Darth Vader toast in the house, so...)

Plus there's all those fun kind of breads.

There are worse things a 6-year-old could want to eat.

The last time I checked, the Hello Kitty! toaster at Target.com was about half the price that the Star Wars store is gouging for Darth. I personally think it's cute and you should not deny your daughter IMHO. (grin) There is also something appealing about biting off the head of Hello Kitty, but that's for another day -- you don't have to mention THAT to your daughter either. And what's your daughter doing reading my blog anyway? (double-indemnity-grin)
