Monday I swung by the Family Fare in Allendale to hit the drive-thru pharmacy window and just like the other week, I had to stop a couple of times, back up, and take a couple of shots with the Nikon D100 and the 28-80mm f3.3-5.6G AF-NIKKOR.

The snow Saturday night revived the bright white we've had most of the winter and softened all the angular features in the piles and drifts from the melt last week.

This looping pattern I quickly could see was a mouse hopping on top of the snow -- you can see the groove from its tail dragging. I believe it hopped off the ledge on the lower left side, not that someone got it. (Click on photo for larger.)

Same mouse? Another> This example of wild big game animals in Allendale at least looked like it was trying to get somewhere. I didn't see an end to the trail so maybe it was missed by the owls... (Click on photo for larger.)

Nice contours on this snow pile from plowing, sculpted by winds and melt. Hard to believe this a color photograph. It could just as easily been from the surface of the Moon, though the albedo is too high. (Click on photo for larger.)
