Got this video link from Ferret Steinmetz. It's from a 2010 U.K. ad for the 10:10 project, working on reducing your carbon footprint by 10%.

It would never play in the United States, of course. Too many people believe in No Consequences Living. That global warming or clean air and clean water or a reduction on dependence on oil is all a great conspiracy to Make Our Lives Miserable.

So... no pressure.

Alas, not sure where I fit in. Driving solo 150+ miles a day, a tank of gas every two days, isn't exactly carbon neutral. On the other hand, we keep getting smiley faces from Consumers Energy every month, showing that our electric energy usage is lower than similar energy efficient homes in our area. Are we smug bastards doing things right? Or is it just that we don't have any kids and got rid of our extra freezer when it died last year?

Most days I despair over the state of TV commercials. It's nice to be able to see a taste of some of the global market -- sure there are dreadful ads overseas as well, but some of the more public service types of commercials are vastly superior.
