This weekend the hearty souls who have signed up and paid good money to get their ever-loving SF/F/H/spec fic brains bashed in by the best-and-the-brightest will be showing up in East Lansing MI for the 2006 Clarion Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers' Workshop.

Roster Change
Gardner Dozois was scheduled to teach Week 2 and I was hoping to get to E. Lansing to meet him, but he isn't able to attend due to illness in his family. So they've gotten Michael Swanwick to pinch hit. Oh, now there's a shame. (grin)
Share the Love
You can actually meet the instructors and the students (and the occasional bookstore cat) if you happen to be in the area -- if you are at all thinking about ever attending any of the Clarion workshops (Original, West in Seattle or South in Australia), you can get some serious questions answered. Here's a PDF of the scheduled readings by the instructors -- all are on Wednesday evenings, not Thursday as when we attended. The fun starts Wednesday 28 June 2006.
Anyway, I can't make all of the dates, but I should be able to make more than the two or so I did last year. (double-grin)
