I Won -- Chocolate!

Despite some distress on my part noted in an earlier entry about the move of Clarion to San Diego, I remain a huge supporter of the Clarion workshop. To that end I should point out that the Clarion Foundation is running an eBay-powered fundraising auction -- and I just won a 2-year subscription to Lady Churchill's Rosebud Wristlet.

Sure, I paid more than the going rate for the subscription, but to tell the truth, I don't mind. Isn't the point of a charity auction to see what kind of idiot buys a gift for more than its worth? (grin) And I was going to go for the Chocolate Level subscription anyway, because it was time I renewed anyway².

I've checked your live journal from time to time just when checking for new information on physics 115 and I was wondering if you were talking the electronics maker Clarion (which I own a nice car head-unit of) or if this is a different Clarion?

This is the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Workshop (http://www.theclarionfoundation.org/rw-home.htm), which Dr. Phil attended in the summer of 2004. A six-week bootcamp for SF&F writers -- man, I have never worked so hard in my life, and that includes teaching, studying, doing a master's thesis and a Ph.D. dissertation. One whale of a lot of fun.
